The Norwegian word kos refers to a state of coziness, comfort, and contentment. It is a concept deeply ingrained in Norwegian culture and is often associated with creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, enjoying quality time with loved ones, and embracing feelings of relaxation and hygge (a similar concept rooted in Danish culture). Kos is about finding joy in the simple things, such as cozy evenings with the candle lights, enjoying a hot beverage, or spending time in nature.
Inspired by the Norwegian concept of kos and the yin yoga style, I offer a form of yoga that promotes relaxation and comfort. It focuses on gentle movements, deep stretching, and calming breathwork to help you unwind and create a nurturing environment. This cozy yoga involves the use of props like blankets, bolsters, and cushions to enhance comfort and encourage deep relaxation.
